Faculty
John M. Haas, Ph.D., S.T.L., NCBC President Dr. Haas has lectured extensively in the United States and abroad. His extensive background and expertise have caused him to be called to testify before state and federal judicial and legislative committees on bioethical topics. He has also provided testimony to the President’s National Bioethics Advisory Commission. For a number of years Dr. Haas produced and hosted a national television program known as The St. Charles Forum which was carried on the Catholic network EWTN. He is a consultant to the U.S. Bishops Prolife Activities Committee and In 2006 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him an Ordinary Member of The Pontifical Academy for Life. In 2010 the Holy Father appointed him to the Academy’s Governing Council.
Rev. Tadeusz Pacholczyk, Ph.D. NCBC Director of Education. Father Tad earned a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Yale University and then did postdoctoral research at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical Center as preparation for his desire to pursue the priesthood. His seminary training was received in Rome where he did advanced studies in theology and bioethics. Father Tad is recongnized as an expert within the Church and the secular media on the issue of human stem cell research. He has testified before Congress and is frequently interviewed by national news agencies regarding the Church and bioethical concerns. Father Tad is also the author of “Making Sense Our Of Bioethics,” a monthly column which appears in many diocesan newspapers.
Victoria Evans, Be.L., Respect Life Coordinator, San Francisco Archiocesan Office of Public Policy and Social Concerns. Ms. Evans is responsible for directing community activities, educational programs, and legislative advocacy in diverse pro-life areas. She is a certified public accountant and holds a Bachelors degree in accounting and a Masters degree in taxation. She recently earned her Licentiate degree in bioethics from the Pontifical Athanaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome where she graduated summa cum laude. Her thesis was titled “Commercial Markets Created by Abortion: Profiting from the Fetal Distribution Chain” an excerpt of which was published in the August 2010 issue of Ethics & Medics.
